    Hi

    Has anybody got one of the MG3 Sat Navs fitted and having problems? Mine was fitted by the dealer when I purchased the car new in June 2016, it been great until 4 days ago when I got an error on start up saying

    "Navigation Failed to Load" with 2 option EXIT or NAV PATH Selecting Exit, goes back to main menu, NAV PATH brings up "Please insert the Navigation devices"

    I have been in communication with NAVIEXTRAS, they are confident it's hardware related, this was proved today when my local dealer Perkins proved the SD card works OK and a known good SD card brought up the same error.

    They tried a full reset but the same error, MG are saying it only has 12 months warranty, therefore I need to buy a new unit @ £455ish, MG have offered £120 towards the cost as a good will gesture.

    I'm 19 not earning much so there is little hope of buying a replacement unit, i have emailed INaviagation via website but not got anything back yet.

    A few questions:

    1. Has anybody had the same issue?
    2. Any thoughts on a solution?
    3. Anybody know anybody who works in a electrons workshop that could look at it?

    Any help would be great

    Can anybody help please.

    My son has an MG3 with the built in SAT NAV hich we had installed by the dealer when we ordered it. The car is 18 months old and everything has been working ok till yesterday. He went to go out in the car, turned on the ignition and the selected the NAV on the SAT NAV startup page but got the following error "Navigation Failed to Load" with 2 options "EXIT" or "NAV PATH". EXIT takes up back to the front page - o real use, NAV PATH brings up a further error "Please insert the navigation devices".

    - I have powered off, removed the SD card, put card back in and repowered, - no change
    - Inserted SD in my PC and SCANNED the card - no errors
    - backed up the card on NAVIEXTRAS toolbox
    - loaded updates to the card via NAVIEXTRAS - (one update was available) - then tried in the car again - no change

    On connecting the SDcard to the the PC in NAVIEXTRAS Toolbox I get a message (see attachment) - "Irregular shutdown detected" - I can Ignore or Disconnect, I believe it is telling me to reinsert the SDCard and shut down the NAV system in a controlled manner, the problem is it won't go past the error page so I can't do controlled shut down.

    I'm stuck, and I really need to solve this, as my son uses the SAT NAV on a daily bases for work.

    I have raised a ticket with NAVIEXTRAS, but it could be quite some time before I get a reply, I will be talking to the dealers this morning but will they have the knowledge of the unit and fault????

    You will need to use NAVIEXTRAS - naviextras.com

    Select "GET FREE UPDATES"

    Register or use as a guest

    In the search bar type in "MG" - Select 3rd option "MG"

    Then select "MG Touch - MG3" (it looks like you have gone back to an earlier page but you haven't)

    Select "GET FREE UPDATES"- This takes you to the update page

    You need to download the Navextras toolbox - available from a number of places on the website.

    If you are making any changes to the SD card -Back it up first (this is an option in the "Naviextras Toolbox"

    Please be aware there are very few updates, unless you pay for a map update @ £90 !!!!!

    The website isn't the easiest to nav around, and the dealers don't seem to know much about the units, the website support is very slow to get back to you, so if you bugger anything up be prepared to wait or spend your life on the net trying to find answers.
