  • Check Engine Light
    Hi,
    I've just come across this. You replied to my post the video with similar starting up issues and I also am having a similar issue to you with engine light and same codes (strange right?). The premium fuel never helped me so I'm still having all these issues. Did you ever figure out what was causing the engine light?

  • Misfire when accelerating hard?
    Did you ever get to bottom of this? I've got starting up issues in a morning, slightly rough idle and I think a little hessitation, intake manifold gasket seemed to improve it somewhat (out of many things tried) but not fully as it's getting worse again.

    I've sometimes smelled an eggy smell when under load if that's what you can smell.

  • What have I done buying a MG6?
    Update: After so long coolant issue seems to be fixed, intake manifold gasket slowed it down loads and runs slightly better and some wynns to finish it off. Still got starting issue and premium fuel doesn't seem to help.

  • What have I done buying a MG6?
    I've tried a new coolant cap, no help to my leaking coolant so my car too back in MG garage see if they can fix these issues. Your starting up issue does sound similar to mine, I hope they manage to sort out your problems with the ECU map. Let us know how it goes!

    Would there be visible signs of coolant on joints where I'm looking at and would compression test show if joints are leaking?

    Hello,

    I've recently purchased an MG6 so far I feel it's a decent car. However already after only owning the car for 2 months I have already ran into a few problems.

    Firstly,

    Loss of coolant - We have had this since we brought the car home and coolant light come in a few days later as the coolant was at minimum mark. We have had this back to the dealership we bought the car from and they discovered it had a seal behind the water pump which was leaking so they replaced this and this only slowed down the coolant leak. So we had the car back to the dealership who then sent us to MG to have the problem looked at further. MG carried out a pressure test of which it passed and they bled the radiator system to make sure there wasn't any air locks. 2 weeks after this we are still loosing coolant from the max mark to min. I'm tempted to try a new coolant cap? So if anyone has any advice I would be very gratefull to hear it.

    Further more to this we now have an issue cold starting which happened after filling the fuel tank to full with regular petrol we have plugged our OBD2 tool in and it has given us a fault code of P3095 even though the engine light was not on.

    We also had problem with the car alarm, alarm module had been replaced and fixed this.

    Also the car idles a little bit lumpy we've had spark plugs changed and it seems to have helped a bit but you can still feel the engine running and needle moving a little, not sure if that is a common thing for this engine or not?

    This car is 2014 1.8T with 30k miles on the clock.

    I look forward to hearing any suggestions and hopefully driving the MG6 for years as we love it apart from the issues we've had.
