Well a little update, I bought it!
Picking it up a week on Wednesday, and I was very impressed with the car. However I was a little underwhelmed wth the 'foot down' performance on the motorway but I think that has got more to do with the fact that I am coming from a torque-y diesel.
I cannot believe the press slated it so much, I though the interior felt very well put together and the quality was well above what I was expecting for the money. The styling is fantastic too, might look to upgrade to the TSE wheels though, but very proud to say I an am MG6 owner.
So one thing that was putting me off is that it was an AVIS car previously, but in the last 5 years it has done 33k miles (but looks like showroom condition) and it has good history so seems that it has been well looked after. After a bit of haggling and getting them to do some extra work for me, we agreed a deal and am well chuffed.
One thing I would like some advice on though is its due its 5 year service which includes the cambelt, but looking on here there have been similar posts about cars with similar mileage and the recommendation is to just change the belt, is that the general consensus still, or have there been horror stories of the tensioner / roller going?
All in all, well pleased with my new purchase. Glad to join the club
