stop/start was created by singingtheblues
hi just bought a MG6 1.9 Diesel can't get the stop/start to kick in. turned all fans heated seats radio sat nav etc off, put in neutral when i pull up at lights still does not work. Tried to phone Longbridge where i purchased the car from but no reply. So can anyone enlighten me please.

Hope your releasing the clutch when in neutral?

If you check out Brione's suggested post, then you'll see many contributions about stop/start including from me!
It does appear to be down to the level of battery charge. We have the same problem with my wife's "3" and it was booked in for investigation at our new local dealer on Dec 11.
But I cancelled the appointment as a really good charging session over last weekend has restored the stop/start.
Suggest you put yours on charge for several hours and see if it works.

Regarding help from Longbridge........there doesn't appear to be anyone left (well that I knew) who can help with technical queries...I think they've tried to push all that support out
to the dealers.

My Volvo took a good few long runs after buying it until the battery was charged enough for stop/start to kick in.
