MG6 diesel 'Stability Control Fail'

3 days 9 hours ago #26998 by mh125
Hi All,
Im a newbie here.

My father recently sold his new Mercedes and took in a MG 6 '15 plate' diesel in px.
It has done 59k and is in beautiful condition, he no longer drives and has given the vehicle to me.
I went to pick the car up yesterday and it drive lovely so far, ive only done 10 miles in it!
There is a problem though, when I turn the car I get a message in the centre console ' 'Stability Control Fail' and the corresponding orange light is illuminated on the dashboard. I suspect it was probably there when he took it in PX, at 88 he wouldn't have even noticed it.

I have had a look at the forum, and from what I can tell there could be a number of different things:
- bad earth somewhere (some one noted on the inner wing by the battery / fuse box) ?
- battery issue maybe run flat ?
- something to do with the clutch?

I love the way the car looks and its condition and I really would want to keep it? I could do with some advice, where do you think I should start to try and resolve the issue?
I live in Coventry any good garages / mechanics that know about the MG 6s.
Any advice appreciated...

Regards

Max
